HHB Director of Operations Richard Kershaw retires after 30 years of service

HHB Communications Ltd. is announcing the retirement of Richard Kershaw from his position as Director of Operations.

Richard Kershaw began his long career at HHB in 1983 after meeting Managing Director Ian Jones while working for theatre sound specialists Hardware House. During his 30-year tenure he saw the company launch innovative technologies including the Portadat, CDR-882 and other models, the BurnIt range of CD recorders and FlashMic under its namesake brand, in addition to a variety of HHB Recording Media, which continues to be available today. Richard helped grow HHB to be a global leader in the distribution of professional audio technology to the world’s biggest broadcasters, recording studios, post facilities and systems integrators.

HHB, its Soho subsidiary Scrub and music technology supplier Source Distribution have continued to grow exponentially over the years and are a well-respected group of companies specialising in sales, service and technical support for leading professional audio brands. In his role as Operations Director, Richard oversaw the busy UK and overseas distribution arms of the companies and became the go-to guy for many facets of HHB’s business.

Richard Kershaw commented: “It has been a great privilege to work alongside the extremely talented people at HHB throughout the years. The company is now stronger than ever and we have a young and dynamic team who bring the same passion and energy to the business that we had in the early years of HHB. It will be sad to leave my good friends, but I know the company will only reach new heights in the future.”

HHB Managing Director Ian Jones states: “Richard has not only been a great person to work with, but a good friend who will be missed by everyone at HHB. As one of the longest-serving HHB Directors, Richard has helped steer the company through exciting times of growth over the past three decades. His knowledge, attention to detail and great sense of humour have made him a well-liked and respected colleague of the professional audio industry and we wish him the best of luck.”
