Wohler Technologies, a leading manufacturer of video, audio and data monitoring solutions, has launched a 16-channel audio/video monitor, available for shipment in June. The iVAM-1 provides an essential set of video and audio confidence monitoring functions for a wide range of applications where physical space and budget are limited.
The iVAM-1 shares many of the operation features of the established Wohler iAM and AMP ranges in a compact and highly affordable unit. Designed for monitoring of traditional SDI and analogue signals, the iVAM-1 can be expanded by a wide arrange of retrofittable options that add interfacing of AES and MADI audio, and the latest SMPTE 2022/2110 standards. The iVAM-1 supports 16 channels of audio monitoring that can be mixed down to the on-board speakers and headphone jacks. Video monitoring can be switched between the two SDI inputs and additionally fitted options, with video displayed on the front panel screen and outputted to SDI and HDMI back panel connectors. The 1U rack mount iVAM-1 is only 14cm deep and requires only 65 W of power, making it suitable for compact facilities such as an outside broadcast vehicle. With a price that is less than half of the Wohler iAM-Video2, the iVAM-1 is affordable enough to be considered for numerous applications, where local confidence monitoring would be highly valued.
A front mounted USB port is provided for software updates to support new and emerging technologies and a network interface allows for remote management while APIs allow for easy integration with 3rd party controllers – the perfect solution for any application that requires a compact and budget friendly unit for monitoring an evolving range of professional signals.
“As a company, Wohler consistently strives to provide relevant solutions to keep up with evolving industry standards and customer needs,” says Mike Kelly, President, Wohler. “We are looking forward to the iVAM1-1 meeting incremental needs in the marketplace, especially in the budget space.”
