Broadcast audio specialists HHB Communications is holding the world premiere of the new RØDE Stereo VideoMic Pro during the BVE London show at Earls Court 2 on Stand C40.
RØDE has built up a reputation for offering premium quality microphones with practical features at a very competitive price point. The Stereo VideoMic Pro is no exception as it builds on the features of the popular VideoMic Pro by using a matched pair of high sensitivity, half-inch cardioid condenser capsules in a coincident XY pair.
Ideal for videographers, as well as recording music and atmospheric ambience, the Stereo VideoMic Pro has an ergonomic form factor perfectly suited to DSLR, consumer camcorders and large sensor video cameras. An integrated shock mounting system is also provided to offer isolation from vibration and mechanical noise.
The Stereo VideoMic Pro’s solid construction and high-quality capsules are complemented by features such as power and equalisation controls, including a high pass filter at 75Hz, a robust multi-strand cable for lower noise transference, and three position level control (-10dB, 0, +20dB). It provides a cardioid polar pattern with a frequency range of 40Hz – 20kHz (selectable HPF@75Hz.), a Max SPL of 134dB (@ 1kHz, 1% THD into 1kΩ load), and -38dB (12.6mV@94dB SPL) sensitivity. One 9V alkaline battery provides over 100 hours of continuous use.
The mic’s +20dB level boost was specifically designed to provide a higher quality signal with DSLR cameras. When activated, the typically low-quality camera preamp level can be reduced, resulting in a lower noise floor and much clearer recording.
RØDE microphones are distributed in the UK and Ireland by HHB’s distribution division, Source Distribution. Alex Theakston, Marketing Coordinator for Source, comments: “RØDE has already experienced tremendous success in the on-camera microphone market with
the VideoMic range, and so we’re incredibly excited to debut a new product which will hugely improve the fidelity, noise-floor and stereo imaging of any camera it is connected to. With the Stereo VideoMic Pro, RØDE has done it again.”
The RØDE Stereo VideoMic Pro will be available in April 2012 and is covered by RØDE’s industry leading 10 year warranty.
BVE visitors are also invited to stop by the HHB stand to collect a free copy of the new HHB 2012 Catalogue and to enter a free prize draw to win an Olympus LS-20M Portable Audio and Video Recorder. With more than 2,000 products on over 200 pages, the HHB 2012 Catalogue is the biggest yet and a must have for any pro audio professional.
HHB is also a proud sponsor of the show’s popular Audio Room, where industry leading audio and broadcast professionals host seminars on the latest industry topics.
