HHB Communications is unveiling updates to both TC Electronics’ loudness metering and monitoring solutions and Dynaudio Professional’s loudspeakers at IBC 2012 in Hall 8 on Stand 8.D56.
Appointed the UK’s ‘Premium Certified HD Dealer’ at last year’s show, HHB is co-exhibiting with TC Electronic and Dynaudio Professional at IBC 2012. TC VP of International Sales – HD Ole Jensen is announcing the world premiere of the 3.40 upgrade for the DB-4 and 8 Transmission Processors and System 6000 MKIIÂ and an added LKFS reading for the LM6 Radar Loudness Meter. The Dynaudio Professional DBM-50 studio monitors, featuring a unique front baffle tilt for perfect desktop placement, are also being displayed for the first time at IBC.
The 3.40 upgrade includes a new ALC6 Advanced Loudness Correction processor, a free of charge update that improves the DB-4 and 8 processors by adding BS.1770 compliant Loudness Correction and True-peak limiting for mono, stereo and 5.1 programs. With ALC6, processing occurs at a higher resolution than any other audio device or codec in the broadcast signal path. It also features the adaptive Stridency Reduction parameter that controls overly loud content while normal content is left untouched. Advanced normalisation features are also included in the update.
ALC6 is also bundled with the DMix processor to form the new ‘Live Aid’ license for the System 6000 MKII signal processor. The ‘Live Aid’ license allows for compliance with loudness-based broadcast standards and provides two loudness-processing algorithms. A host of new pre-sets are also available with low-latency, high-resolution loudness processing on all outputs for American, European or Japanese loudness standards. ‘Live Aid’ also offers numerous new pre-sets targeted to the loudness and true-peak requirements.
HHB Director of Sales Martin O’Donnell states: “With loudness conformity set for adoption in the UK during 2013 the ALC6 development from TC is perfectly timed and complements an already impressive TC product range. Also the new Dynaudio Professional DBM-50 monitors feature pioneering active loudspeaker technology with its angled design and broadcast-quality sound.”
TC Electronics’ full range of loudness solutions and a selection of Dynaudio Professional loudspeakers will be displayed throughout the show with representatives on hand for product demonstrations. Visitors are also invited to stop by the HHB booth to pick up a free copy of the HHB 2012 Catalogue and the new Broadcast Sound Technology Update brochure.
