HHB presents the latest audio and loudness management tools from NUGEN at IBC 2015

HHB Communications Ltd. is highlighting the latest innovations in audio and loudness management for film and television post-production from NUGEN Audio in Hall 8 on Stand 8.D56 at IBC 2015.

HHB is launching the new NUGEN Halo Upmix, featuring new Stereo to 5.1 & 7.1 upmixing technology, new standards-based loudness measurement capabilities for theatrical trailer production, and the new NUGEN software ‘Site’ Floating License system for enterprise customers with ten seats or more.

From naturally extracted and expanded soundscapes to full cinematic big-stage enhancement, Halo Upmix delivers powerful and intuitive tools to control and adjust parameters in a surround sound mix. With unique centre channel management, including switchable dialog extraction, Halo is perfect for all types of production from archive restoration and TV through to the full 7.1 Feature Film experience.

HHB now offers server-based seat licensing technology for NUGEN software to help streamline and centralise the license management process for mid- to large-sized clients. This efficiency enhancement will initially be available for all NUGEN loudness products and the new Halo Upmix stereo-to-5.1/7.1 surround upmixer.

NUGEN Audio Founder and Creative Director Jon Schorah comments: “We’re relentless in making sure that we cover the full gamut of loudness standards, and at IBC we’ll show why NUGEN Audio continues to be the go-to provider of loudness software solutions. In addition, our new Halo Upmix tool will be a radical new approach to upmixing that not only provides the downmix compatibility for TV surround production, but also provides enough creative malleability for film audio professionals.”

HHB Director of Sales Martin O’Donnell explains: “NUGEN is always at the leading edge of audio and loudness management technology for broadcast and post. The Halo Upmix is the perfect solution for engineers looking to fine tune their surround mix for any type of production, large or small.”

Visitors are invited to stop by the HHB booth for a complementary hot or cold beverage and collect a free copy of the new issue of the HHB Pro Audio report.
