MANLEY Variable Mu
Dual-channel vacuum tube compressor / limiter.
Product lists can be submitted to HHB for a packaged quotation
The name Variable Mu refers to the use of ‘remote cut-off’ or re-biasing of a vacuum tube for compression, a technique used by the classic Fairchild 670. Manley’s stereo tube compressor limiter features transformer balanced inputs and outputs, all-tube circuitry with independently regulated B+ and heater supplies, variable attack from 25-70ms, continuously variable threshold, a hard-wired bypass switch and stereo link switch. Metering is facilitated by full-sized VUs and units can be linked for use in surround sound formats.
